Experts You Can Rely On
It’s estimated that nearly 30 million Americans would benefit from the use of hearing aids. But unfortunately, a far smaller number actually purchase them. Hearing loss can be an isolating and depressing condition when left untreated; Its effects are far reaching, making communication and connection difficult for not only those with hearing loss but also for the people they interact with and care about most. The good news is the solutions for hearing loss have greatly improved, and there are hearing aids available for all lifestyles and budgets.
Our hearing evaluations begin with a discussion of your current medical history and a review of your hearing concerns. Every patient is different and we want to get to know you and your unique hearing concerns. After we examine your ear and complete an array of audiometric tests to assess your hearing, we then review our findings with you. If a loss is detected, we’ll go over the type and level of hearing loss present. Rest assured that there are many treatment options for all types of hearing loss, and we’ll carefully walk you through the options that will best serve your hearing needs, and ensure your satisfaction every step of the way.
HEARING AID REPAIRS
Hearing aids today are sophisticated devices capable of incredible feats. Since their users depend on them throughout the day, hearing aids get exposed to a wide array of environments and conditions, and their tiny components occasionally require repair.
At Solutions Hearing Centers we understand how important these devices are for your daily activities and we strive for the fastest repairs possible. Occasionally, hearing aids may require a repair that is more than we can handle. For major repairs like these, we will send your hearing aids to their manufacturer for service. Rest assured, however, that our dedicated team will do everything we can to make this process as painless as possible. We will discuss your options, keep you updated on timelines, and may offer loaner hearing aids for the time being. We will do everything we can to get you back on the path to better hearing quickly.
FITTINGS AND ADJUSTMENTS
Hearing is a complex and wondrous process. But once hearing loss occurs, it can take some time to regain the ability to hear lost sounds again. Unlike wearing glasses to help with poor eyesight, wearing hearing aids to help with hearing loss requires an acclimation phase to get used to your new instruments.
During your fitting, your hearing aid will be programmed to meet your needs, and you’ll be given instructions on how to insert and remove the device, as well as how to change the batteries and clean them. We’ll also review your expectations of your new device and go over how it will work in your day-to-day life. Sometimes the fitting process can be completed on the first try, yet other times it might require a few follow-up visits to ensure your hearing aids are working well.
You are encouraged to begin wearing your new hearing aids as soon as you’ve purchased them. But beware: things will sound a bit odd at first. It takes some time for your brain to relearn how to process various long-lost sounds. It helps to begin slowly and gradually increase the amount of time that you wear your hearing aids each day in that first week of owning them. We will schedule regular follow-up appointments during your adjustment phase to check in on your progress. We will clean your hearing aids to keep them in good condition, and make any adjustments needed to help you hear clearly. In between these appointments, we are just a phone call away and encourage our patients to contact us with any questions or concerns they may have.
CUSTOM EARMOLDS AND EAR PLUGS
It’s estimated that over 15% of Americans experience Noise Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL), a preventable form of hearing loss caused by exposure to loud noise. Unfortunately this form of hearing loss is irreversible, but custom hearing protection can prevent it from starting in the first place. These custom-fit earmolds are also excellent for keeping the ear canal dry and healthy for all underwater activities.
At Solutions Hearing Centers we know how hard it can be to live with hearing loss, which is why we’re strong advocates for preventing hearing loss from happening at all. We offer a full line-up of custom hearing protection solutions to preserve your hearing and offer all-day comfort.
As the name implies, custom earmolds and ear plugs are made custom to fit the unique contour of your ear canal. If you have trouble getting a comfortable or secure fit with traditional earmolds or ear plugs, custom hearing protection may be for you. They offer the best hearing protection available. Earmolds come in a variety of materials and can be equipped with a fitted attenuator, enabling easy verbal communication while still protecting your hearing from harmful sounds. These types of earmolds tend to be popular with musicians, along with the in-ear-monitors (IEM) we offer.
